Hello and welcome.

The transfer/watercolor paintings represented here include selections from series I have been working on over the last several years as well as recent commissions.

The term 'transfer/watercolor' is descriptive of the techniques I use, which involve the chemical and mechanical transfer of graphic images in combination with painting processes.

To achieve the visual results I'm after and with the specific aim of engaging the viewer in a more intimate art experience, I work in a comparatively small format. In the case of commissioned works, when enlarged for reproduction, originals painted to scale gain added interest from magnification of the effects created by the watercolors and in the transfer process.

Paintings in the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" series are set in small, easel-backed frames integral to their narratives. They are intended primarily for close encounters on table tops, mantles, desks. However, they work equally well hung on walls, in pairs or groupings, and are portable enough to make stimulating travelling companions.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in seeing more works in any of the series, or if you would like to discuss commissioning work for a particular purpose.
